Junior Climate and Wind Consultant Full Time

As a Junior Climate and Wind Consultant at Arup, your role will involve:

• Conducting assessments to evaluate how varying climate and wind conditions affect building performance, pedestrian comfort, microclimate, and urban walkability.
• Applying climate datasets and modeling tools to analyze hazards and assess the vulnerability of buildings and infrastructure to climate change.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including structural, civil, and mechanical engineers, as well as risk consultants, on forward-thinking building and infrastructure projects.
• Partnering with Arup’s in-house digital and technical experts to develop innovative, tailored solutions for clients.
• Preparing detailed technical reports and visually engaging presentation materials.
• Participating in design meetings and effectively communicating design results to project teams.

We’re Looking for Candidates Who:

• Are currently pursuing or have recently completed a Master’s or PhD in Building Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Possess foundational knowledge of computational modeling (experience with CFD, WRF, or tools for building/environmental physics is a plus).
• Have a basic understanding of climate-related risks in the built environment.
• Are experienced in coding and data visualization using tools like Python, GIS, or similar programming languages.
