Tenth Special Session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN)

The African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN) was founded in December 1985 after a meeting of African environment ministers in Cairo, Egypt. Its mandate includes advocating for environmental protection in Africa, ensuring that basic human needs are met sustainably, promoting social and economic development at all levels, and ensuring that agricultural practices fulfill the region’s food security needs.
